Introducing Belgian One

A novel 3D printed urban redevelopment project

Belgian One — exterior render

The Project

Automation technology and 3D printing are demonstrating advancements in urban regeneration. This groundbreaking project aims to showcase the benefits of using automation and 3D printing in construction by unlocking the hidden potential of existing urban areas and underutilized space.

Urban regeneration inspiration — garden centre

The Challenge

The fire-damaged Brussels site before redevelopment

A fire destroyed a commercial property in Brussels, displacing a business and rendering two apartments uninhabitable. Years later, the site remains undeveloped — valuable urban land left inaccessible.

The neighbourhood faces difficult choices: accept ongoing property decay or endure the disruption of conventional construction. Meanwhile, citizens struggle to find affordable housing in developed urban areas where new land access is increasingly limited.

The Solution

Working with local architects and construction professionals, we redesigned the structure using modern industrial robotics and 3D-printed elements with minimal site impact — while respecting the character of the neighbourhood. The result transforms a blighted corner into a resilient, future-ready development.
